Other community events that we offer (in addition to Open Stitch Groups) are Knit-a-longs and Crochet-a-longs. These are often called KALs and CALs. Participants meet at a specified time to make the same project together. They are able to learn from each other, exchange ideas, inspire creativity, and enjoy interesting conversation. Since this is not a class, there is no charge to participate. Someone from the shop will lead the group. Supplies, including patterns, will need to be purchased at Winston Wools™. Please arrive early enough to purchase your supplies and have your yarn wound, if needed, or shop for supplies in advance of the event date. Yarn winding is not available during shop events. Participants should have beyond basic stitch skills.
Participants sign up for KALs/CALs by purchasing the pattern thru the shop. We limit the number of participants and this will reserve your space. We use Ravelry for in-shop pattern purchases. If you have a Ravelry account, the purchased pattern will be dropped automatically into your library for your access at any time. Don't worry, if you don't have a Ravelry account, we will email you an access link to your pattern. Printed copies of the pattern are available in the shop for $1.00 each (black and white copy) or $2.00 each (full-color copy) and comes in a protective plastic sleeve. You will need to include your Ravelry account ID (not login or password), your first and last name, and email address related to your Ravelry account in the Purchase Notes section at check out. If you are signing up for more than one person, please provide their information as well.
Participant registration will close 48 hours before the start of the KAL/CAL. A minimum of two registrants is needed for a KAL/CAL to take place. We will contact you if the minimum is not met.
Please contact the shop, if you have any questions about how this works. We are happy to help!
